Control System Engineer - Siemens S7/TIA Portal - 3 months + extensions - £345/day + travel/accommodation - North West
Samuel Frank Associates requires an experienced Siemens S7/TIA Portal Control Engineer to work on a contract basis across various sites predominantly in the North West (as well as visiting some sites in the Midlands). We need a high calibre professional who understands complex integrations, communication systems as well as being able to deal with demanding customers in pressure situations. Controls Engineers who have worked on automated warehouse, material handling and/or conveyor control systems will be well suited to this type of work.
We are looking for Controls Engineers with knowledge of Siemens S7/TIA Portal PLC Software capability and the communications interfaces between PLC layer and an application layer (WMS/WCS) to support various customers for 3 months initially which is likely to run into 2018.
This is definitely a role for someone who has been there and done it who brings knowledge and experience to the role (as opposed to someone who can pick it up as they go).
Key areas of responsibility include -
- PLC software development and testing - preferably Siemens (Classic S7 and TIA Portal) and ideally some Rockwell (RS Logix 5000 and/or Studio 5000) experience
- HMI application development and testing
- Electrical and control system design
- Hardware specification & procurement
- Hardware configuration
The successful Control Engineer will also need to be adaptable and flexible due to the multi-site set up and a client base where to expect the unexpected is a good approach!
The rate is based on a professional working day and the client will cover all travel and accommodation expenses on top.
The customer sites are commutable from Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington, St.Helens, Stockport, Wigan, Chester, Blackburn, Burnley and Rochdale.
