Are you a self-motivated Oracle DBA with a background in Oracle Private Cloud Appliance or other Oracle Appliances such as Exadata or Exalytics? Do you have good working experience with Oracle Integrated SOA Gateway (SG), Oracle EBS 12.2.4 or above, Oracle Virtualisation (preferably OVM), Oracle RAC 12.2, Oracle Database 12.2, ZFS storage or Netapp and Weblogic for EBS? Job Overview:
As Oracle DBA you will be working as part of a project team supporting the migration of our Oracle eBusiness Suite Estate into a greenfield Oracle Private Cloud environment.
This is an inflight project implementation delivering a full suite of Procurement & Sourcing Modules together with into an in-house developed front end layer. The role is varied, supporting the projects' usage of the existing environments and assisting in the definition of the new target environment.
Responsibilities will include Technical Management of Servers and Application Instances, Patching of Environments across the estate (EBS/UNIX), Planning and Installation of existing and new application requirements, Delivery of Architecture documentation for all Change and Implementation tasks, Planning and Delivery of Environments into Operational Acceptance and Planning and Implementation of the DR solution and Handover into Operational Acceptance.
You will also be involved in Cloning activities across Development and Production Environments, Architecture planning, design, change management to cater for project change on an on-going basis.
You will have Management/Design/Change ownership for Network Change within WLT and Hardware Hosting Partner and provide DBA Cover for ongoing project issues. You will also be a Member of the Design Authority team, Advising on Technical Solution Architecture and you will be required to organise handover of System into Support Organisation post Go-Live.
This is a 3-6 month contract position based in Luton, Bedfordshire working Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm, however flexibility and preparedness to work out of hours may be required in order that development teams are minimally affected by patch cycles etc. *Full job description is available on request.

You will be a clear, confident and professional communicator both verbally and in writing, with the ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a worked in a project environment and have a strong technical background in Oracle Private Cloud Appliance or other Oracle Architectures such as Exadata or Exalytics. You will have good working knowledge of and experience with Oracle Integrated SOA Gateway (ISG), Oracle EBS 12.2.4 or above, Oracle Virtualisation (preferably OVM) and use of OVM console, Oracle RAC 12.2 including installation, upgrades and maintenance, Oracle Database 12.2 and Weblogic for EBS.
Experience with Autopatch (adop), opatch and bsu (Weblogic Smart Update) will also be required as your responsibilities will include analysing complex patching scenarios, testing and implementing patching of multi-component patching through to live. Additionally you will produce supporting documentation (MD120s) for the project archive and for suppliers to apply final patch cycle to production and disaster recovery environments.
An awareness and knowledge of Oracle ZFS storage (or similar technology e.g. NetApp); awareness of capabilities of ZFS for replication and snapshotting along with the use of ZFS console will also be required to be successful in this role.
