IT. Alliance Group is a leading provider of IT outsourcing and IT managed service solutions for global IT service providers. As part of the IT Alliance organization you will work directly on a client site working closely with the in-house team to provide the best possible technical service and customer experience that the client requires.
Within the Senior Systems Engineer role you will be working for a multisite government body. You will travel between sites across County Wexford and Waterford liaising with users, senior management and other members of the IT team.
Responsibilities of the Role
The following are some of the responsibilities of the Senior System Engineer role:
- Visiting various off sites and understanding each sites specific needs
- Implementing high level complex solutions within project deadlines
- Deal with unexpected issues as they arise, constantly updating relevant staff and team members
- Follow company procedures & methods
- Learn new and existing products
- Liaise with contracted support companies to support the environment where necessary.
- Carry out work to enhance the environment as directed by the organisation or contracted third parties.
- Advise on technical issues relating to the environment, its maintenance and enhancement.
- Document all issues as they arise and solutions when resolved using in-house Helpdesk Application
Requirements of the role
As a Senior Systems Engineer you will have the ability to work well under pressure as well as off your own initiative.
- 5 year' IT experience and at least 1 years' experience in a similar role
- Broad technical background combined with good communication skills. Strong documentation skills
- Microsoft Infrastructure: Server , Active Directory, Exchange 2013 and Office 365,
- Virtualisation: Hyper-V
- HyperV used widely in across the organisation and HyperV Cluster in Head Office and two other sites using a MD3200 SAN
- Storage: Dell SAN
- Backup technologies: Veeam, Backup Exec, Microsoft DPM
- Good understanding of networking. Experience of Fortinet & Sonicwall Firewalls and solid understanding of WAN configurations is desirable
- Site to site VPN setup between majority of centres and Head Office using either Fortinet or sonicwall Firewalls.
- 100MB Broadband is supplied in some sites and various other suppliers in others from 5MB up. Admin Offices and training centres connected to 1GB Networks.
- Various network Switches in use throughout, some configured as core Switches. There are mutli domain sites. Vlans are also widely used.
- Ideally some of the following qualifications - MCSE, MCSA, MCSD, MOS, MCITP, CCA, VCP, CCNA, CCNP, EMC
Ideally you will have the following qualifications:
Relevant Technical or Academic Qualifications, to include one or more of the below:
- Relevant undergraduate Degree in ICT or Engineering
- Minimum, current industry certification: MCSE 2008 or 2012.
- Minimum of two years' experience working in Senior System Engineer role in a similar environment
- Qualifications will be verified.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar environment
This role requires travel from site to site across the area of county Wexford and Waterford, you will need access to your own vehicle, all mileage is paid at a standard rate.
