DESCRIPTION:
The Guidewire Architect will be responsible for the design, framework, development, operation, support and maintenance of systems.
The Guidewire Architect will partner with key stakeholders, testing and development teams to create application architecture, design, code and unit test codes. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, and testing the Guidewire suite and will conduct technical designs and code reviews.
SKILLS:
- 10 years of proven experience within insurance (policies, claim processing, worker compensation is an asset)
- 7+ years of work experience working on Guidewire implementation projects in a technical/functional position.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent
- Certification(s) in any of the following Guidewire Modules:
ClaimCenter
PolicyCenter
DataHub
InfoCenter
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enterprise Architecture
- Responsible for Architectural deliverables when involved in strategic solutions and delivery within a project setting. Magnitude -projects from $1 million to $100 million.
- Develop and sustain Guidewire architectures for EA domains (Business, Information, Application, Physical and Logical Data Models and Technology).
- Provide consulting and advice to the business community regarding plans and strategies.
- Develop and evolve the enterprise architecture, describing business components, technical infrastructures and their inter-relationships and dependencies.
- Development of the company's strategies, principles and plans.
- Liaise and collaborate with business partners in all disciplines.
- Support and advise management and technical staff
- Project Support
- Recommend technical solutions which will drive automated processes and/or minimize internal sourcing needs.
- Develop, model and apply enterprise-wide references to processes, information models, application and technical architectures as they relate to IT projects.
- Provide subject matter expertise in at least one architectural domain.
- Architecture Governance
- Conduct architectural reviews and integrate, as required, legislative requirements and business processes.
- Conduct user interface reviews, determine impacts of infrastructure change and ensure solutions are aligned with corporate strategy, objectives and architectural principles
- Periodically assess current architecture for components at risk of obsolescence, and identify opportunities for investment/remediation or replacement.
