Middleware Engineer/project Specialist WebSphere MQ/JBoss
Our client is a multinational bank and is one of the world's leading financers in a number of different sectors. As the successful Middleware Engineer you will be part of an 8-strong Middleware Engineering Scrum Team within the IT Global Engineering department. Your primary responsibility as a Middleware Engineer will be to engineer Middleware solutions across a multi-platform infrastructure (RH Linux and Windows. And some AIX and Solaris).
Specific responsibilities include:
- Automating deployment of Middleware software
- document the engineered solutions
- create CI/CD pipelines
- modifying and maintaining existing scripts to handle changes in infrastructure
- engineering self-service solutions to provide the Middleware services to the internal customers
- support current File Transfer solution based on Spazio/MQ Series.
The successful Middleware Engineer candidate must have at least five years of experience within a multi-platform (UNIX, Linux and Windows) environment; engineering and automating Middleware solutions. You must also have a strong track record in writing, installing and supporting scripts for message & file handling using WebSphere MQ as the communications layer.
The ideal technical skills:
- WebSphere MQ Series product knowledge
- Development skills using Unix Shell and Perl Scripting, PHP, HTML, JavaScript and C/C++
- Knowledge of RedHat JBoss Middleware (JBoss WebServer/Tomcat and EAP)
- Knowledge of IBM WebSphere AS
- Support message and file transfers on Unix, Windows and Linux platforms using multiple protocols
- Experience with development tools, like GIT, Jenkins, Maven, etc
