Description
- Install, configure, upgrade, and manage SAP Sybase ASE 15.x and 16.x
- Experience supporting SAP Sybase ASE in a Unix/Linux environment
- Experience writing and troubleshooting Shell Scripts
- Experience performing cross platform migrations
- Knowledge of HA and cluster architecture
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays, as part of a global leveraged team
- Experience supporting SAP Sybase Replication Server and SAP IQ a plus
- Experience supporting other RDBMS a plus (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2)
- Perform periodic database maintenance, monitoring and performance tuning
- Proficient in backup & restore methodologies
- Monitor database performance to identify P&T requirements
- Proactively plan data growth trends
- Proactively perform Health Checks of database environment
- Develop and participate in disaster recovery exercises
- Develop and maintain database documentation and knowledge based articles
- Develop database strategies that align to the customer's needs and goals
- Support business initiatives and external customers
- Strong communication skills
- Represent database administration team in operations as well as project activities
- ITIL Foundation or related training (a plus)
