Description
We are urgently looking for a Kafka Engineer for our top end client in Amsterdam.
Required:
- 3 years of experience with Apache Kafka and full life cycle of data streaming solutions
- Experience with installing and configuring Kafka connecters reading Oracle change logs
- Demonstrates general Oracle expertise (11g or higher)
- Experienced in with continuous delivery, especially deployment and test automation
- Comfortable being part of an agile Dev/OPS team
- Analytical skills proven through either experience or university degree in science/engineering

Detailed responsibilities:
- Deploying and running a Production system, and provide Level 2 and 3 support for your Application.
- Specifying, creating, and executing the Performance and Operational Acceptance Tests including High Availability and Disaster Recovery Tests, with the support of the Dev Engineer. The same with roll-back scripts.
- Specifying, creating, testing and deploying the runtime scripts (eg stop/start/purge/backup).
- Configuring and implementing Monitoring Tooling to enable 24x7 monitoring by the Master Control Room (MCR) using appropriate Event Alerts, agreed with the MCR.
- Understanding any expected changes in behaviour after a specific Release, and taking appropriate action if actual behaviour is not in line with what was expected.
- Collaborate with the Kafka experts within the organisation and outside to keep in pace with the most recent developments in this area.
- Closely work with the Oracle CDC experts to design and develop next generation event based application data publications.
