Essential:
HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a engineering subject.
Desireable:

Key tasks and deliverables:
Maritime Combat Systems (MCS) comprises 4 teams and is an integral part of the director ships support business area.
MCS is responsible for managing master equipment's, suppliers and stock in support of surface ships and submarines for the Royal Navy, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and other areas of defence.
The approach to Warship Support has evolved significantly over the past decade, and a Surface Ship Support (SSS) transition programme is currently underway to transfer equipment support for multiple sub systems from platform teams to MCS (Maritime Combat System) teams - targeting Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) and Type 45 Destroyers.
The MCS transition work encompasses the review of systems and all supporting artefacts to ensure support activities can be adopted by MCS with minimal disruption and impact without compromising support to its Legacy portfolio. In addition, opportunities are being sought to improve the service to current classes of vessel where shortfalls exist.
MCS are thus engaged in the evolution of current support arrangements and the development of new support arrangements to meet equipment transfer programme business objectives, requirements and timelines.
The MCS Service Delivery Manager (SDM) will have a strong technical background, with extensive experience of equipment acquisition and in-service support to military front-line operations.
The senior SDM will develop technical solutions that meet customer capability needs, applying their knowledge and experience of integrated logistic support to ensure that support requirements are satisfied in an efficient, effective and safe manner within the transfer programme arrangements.
The senior SDM will hold a minimum HNC/HND in a relevant Engineering subject, have experience of applying Project Management tools across the full project life cycle, and be able to both develop technical requirements and assess industry proposals.
In addition, the Senior SDM will have advanced level competence in system safety, project controls, DLoDs and the management of quality.
Experience of managing systems of systems engineering projects would also be beneficial. Technical support to in-service support activity and lines of development associated with the CSM transformation programme. Management of technical risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and opportunities.
