Description

A Renewable Energy client is looking for a Consultant to work as a Geoscience Construction Manager for their offshore wind farm project. Our client is looking for a Geoscience Construction Manager who can initiate procurement and negotiations according to decisions made by the EPC/Package Manager.
He/She will also be able to recommend and negotiate agreements and contracts including variation orders. They will need to execute project changes within time, budget and quality approved by the EPC/Package Manager.
They will also monitor and control HSE, risks, budget and schedule for the survey.
Initially this will be a 7 month freelance contract role expected to commence from 1st September up until 1st March 2018 with the possibility of extending further thereafter. This will be 5 working days a week, 8 hrs a day.
Responsibilities:
Construction support across all packages:
  • To generate technical scopes of work, tender process, post award project administration, execution of surveys QA/QC, re-use of existing data for other applications (environmental and engineering).
  • Standardisation of geodetic parameters, survey methodologies and as built documentation between packages.
  • To establish and maintain RTK-service.
  • Regularly visit site during execution phase, and also close out reporting and integration into technical packages.
  • Front load acceptance of O & M and OFTO to speed up process.
  • Provide expertise on ground conditions.
Consents Support:
  • Authorship of documentation to be integrated into consent applications.
  • Clarifications of installation methods for export and inter-array cable, including plough trial.
Cable Group Support:
  • Assisting the export cable package manager during the HDD and cable installation process.
Construction Surveys:
  • Technical management of pre, during and post installation surveys.
  • Technical input to scour monitoring surveys.
  • Review of project documentation, method statements.
  • Review of reporting and deliverables.
  • Attendance at kick-off meetings.
  • Site attendance throughout execution phone for QA/QC troubleshooting.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years. relevant survey experience and good project management skills.
  • MSc or other relevant degree.
Special Provision:
The Consultant must have his/her or own iPhone telephone and PC with MS Office 2007.
The Consultant must also have his/her own PPE equipment.
