Senior Underwriter
Allen Recruitment are assisting a multinational professional services company source a Senior Underwriter, for a temporary position, responsible for providing superior underwriting expertise by accurately assessing risk and underwriting new and existing business quotations.
This is an exciting opportunity based in London, to work with global leaders, who provide innovative workforce solutions that ensures results for their 240 industry-leading clients.

What are the key qualifications for this role?
- A Financial qualification (GR1, FPC or ACII etc.)
- A customer focused individual, managing expectations and resolving issues.
- Excellent computer skills in all MS packages.
- Systems knowledge particularly in workflow packages desired.
- Good knowledge of underwriting philosophies and governing regulations.
- Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A track record in achieving results and meeting deadlines.
- Accountability for results.
- Demonstrates the relevant knowledge and skills to perform all aspects of the job.
- An innovative, problem solver, who proactively address current and potential challenges and opportunities.
What would a general day consist of?
- Underwrite complex new and existing business quotations accurately and within agreed pricing and risk guidelines.
- Offer innovative solutions to complex underwriting issues.
- Liaise with all business partners, assisting key strategic relationships.
- Provide pragmatic and commercially focused underwriting decisions to help achieve sales targets and customer satisfaction.
- Communicate technical knowledge and understanding to support underwriter development.
- Participate in meetings with brokers and the Sales team as and when required.
- Meet the Company's Information Security Policy and Risk Management practices.
- Conduct ad-hoc tasks and project work as required as an underwriting SME, supporting the Head of Scheme Underwriting.
