IT Security Technical Writer | Luxembourg | £450/day - £550/day

This position is responsible for providing professional technical writing and editing support for technical deliverables based on standard group requirements (Operational Security Guidelines, Technical State Compliance Monitoring for Applications).

This position also requires a high level of personal organization and basic project management skills to coordinate large, cross-functional teams in the creation of technical documents that may have numerous contributors and that will require integration and editing into a single, consistent, and compelling deliverable.

Job Description and Requirements:

  • Performing research, documentation review, and end user observation or interview to establish technical content and documentation objectives
  • Working with the technical teams, performing comprehensive technical writing, copy editing, and proofreading services in alignment with established standards and style guides.
  • Creation of new content and editing of existing content to include evaluating and adapting written materials to ensure appropriateness for the medium and audience for which it is intended

Main type of deliverable:

  • Application Operative Security Guideline (A-OSG), mostly in creation capabilities. The purpose of an A-OSG is to establish a mandatory guidance and an application specific control framework with respect to the use, installation, management and/or administration of the application involved in order to ensure Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability and minimizing the business damage or interruptions from all external, internal attacks and other unexpected events.

Mandatory topics includes:

  • General information (owners, description, etc.)
    • User asset management
    • Security event monitoring and technical state monitoring
    • Security testing
    • Patch management
    • Data protection: Confidentiality and Integrity
    • Backup and restore
    • Associated documentation
  • Infrastructure Operative Security Guideline (I-OSG), mostly in the review capabilities. The purpose of an I-OSG is similar to the A-OSG but also includes topic related the use, installation, management and/or administration of the product(s) involved in order to ensure business continuity, productivity, profitability and minimizing business damage or interruptions from all external and internal malicious attacks.

Mandatory topics includes:

  • General information
    • Risks (outsourcing, reporting, etc.)
    • Guideline for installation (hardening, audit and logging, etc.)
    • Guideline for operational uses
      • User management
      • Privilege management
      • Patching
      • Event monitoring
      • Technical state compliance
      • Backup and restore
      • Incident management
      • Continuity management

- Technical State Compliance Monitoring for Applications

The purpose of this document is to describe the Application settings that need to be monitored by our Central Monitoring System.

An application setting is, by example:

  • Application Logon failure
  • Critical file modification
  • Abnormal shutdown

Education/Experience

  • University degree in IT or equivalent level through experience and professional training

Skills

  • Proficiency in technical English writing
  • High level of personal organization and basic project management skills
  • Good knowledge of IT Security
  • Experiences in Windows, Linux
  • Autonomous but being able to report quickly difficulties
  • Communication skills
  • French

Languages

  • French fluency advantageous
