User Researcher

To work in the data analytics competency centre on a number of products providing services to the Home Office customers. The User Researcher will form part of a core product team.
What you will work on:
* Development and analysis of User Surveys
* Review feedback
* Perform Discovery research with new user group(s)
* Perform regular evaluative testing
* Perform access needs research
* Gather requirements for a self-service portal
* Develop requirements and analyse findings of Web Analytics
* Support operational assurance services
* Test integration solutions
Experience Required:
*Demonstrable experience of planning, organising and conducting research with internal government employees, including within highly secure environments.
*Knowledge and experience of defining, measuring and leading on the use of analytics to inform user insight in conjunction with other methods
*Demonstrable strong interpersonal skills and leadership experience in a complex agile environment, who knows how to make projects succeed
*Have a degree in the relevant field combined with demonstrable experience. Degrees in HCI, psychology, anthropology, design research or similar are relevant
*Knowledge of how complex applications can comply with W3C WAI standards, experience of evaluating compliance and research with users with access needs
*Full understanding and demonstrable experience of research methodologies. Capability to select best technique. E.g. Qualitative: in-depth interview, usability testing, and contextual enquiry. Quantitative: benchmarking survey, web analytics
*Comfortable with ad-hoc research request from other teams and providing support when can
*Experience of the Government Digital Service's Design Principles and Digital Service Standard and its application to internal products and services
