Description

A new opportunity is currently available for a WebSphere Systems Administrator to join our Client, a National and well recognised Community Service Provider on an initial 5 month contract, based in Brisbane CBD.

The WebSphere Systems Administrator will be required to maintain and support a suite of Corporate systems that support Integration, SQL and risk functions of the business.

The WebSphere Systems Administrator will additionally join a specialised team that provides 2nd and 3rd level Application support to resolve incidents, manage problems, fulfil user requests, perform systems maintenance and patching, work with software service providers and perform the implementation of small changes.

Further to this, the WebSphere Systems Administrator will be required to undertake the following key responsibilities as required;

  • Day to day operation and heath of the WebSphere flows and queue's
  • Provide a consistent method of supporting and maintaining applications based on ITIL functions.
  • Trace interface messages through log files, audit database entries and endpoint interaction
  • Analyse HL7 message content for data-related issues
  • Modify and replay messages as required
  • Monitor integration engine queues and flows, starting and stopping components as necessary
  • Troubleshoot message processing by viewing IBM WebSphere ESQL code logic
  • Manage deployment of interface changes in IBM WebSphere via TeamCity toolset
  • Work closely with members of other functional teams to solve code logic

  • Work with vendors to understand implementation approaches and constraints
  • Install, configure and test functionality changes
  • Apply and improve effective and mature service management processes to application support and maintenance services
  • Ensure that the delivery of minor changes are prioritised, and delivered efficiently and effectively
  • Manage co-ordinated processes with Service Desk, vendors and others critical to service fulfilment
  • Align with enterprise processes for the management of change and release
  • Update and maintain documentation for systems and application

To be carefully considered for this role, we are seeking to engage a Technical Specialist demonstrating the following key experience, and professional attributes to deem suitable;

  • Strong Industry/Professional experience with WebSphere Maintenance and Development
  • Experience in working in an ITIL adopted environment providing effective, timely and professional support on systems to agreed delivery standards
  • Demonstrated collaborative approach working in teams
  • Experience in end to end application management policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate, prioritise and deliver on multiple tasks to achieve deadlines
  • Experience an ability to build productive relationships with users
  • Experience in IT applications management in a related industry, for example delivering community services, health, disabilities or aged care.
  • ITIL Foundation certificate (or higher) - highly desirable
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Strong problem solving and problem resolution skills
  • Facilitation skills and an ability to achieve consensus
  • Collaborative approach to achieving consensus

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Finance and Health applications such as Cerner, Australian Digital Health, and SAP
  • HL7
