Proteus Europe is searching for a speaking Dutch (or French) application Engineer available to work in a long trem contract for one of our clients in Belgium

Your New role:-
As an Application Engineer, you are responsible for accepting, transitioning and manufacturing new application versions (- deployments- ) and - bug fixes- in accordance with established procedures. In addition, you monitor the application availability and performance, which you also report on, taking into account the current guidelines.
In that connection:
- Are you involved in setting up and automating deployment procedures and setting up monitoring for the applications.
- Allow yourself to prepare and keep up-to-date all relevant documentation.
In addition, you provide 2-level support to internal and external customers in case of operational incidents or problems, such as crashes.
Your Skills and experience:-
Essential Skills:-
- Knowledge of/experience with other IT applications such as networks, programming languages (eg C ++, Java, PHP), databases (MySQL, Oracle), ITIL, ... is a trick
- You are a communicative team player who can also work autonomously
- You are solution oriented with good analytical skills
- You have an active knowledge of French or Dutch and a good command of the 2nd language and English
- You are willing to be part of a waiting service (24h/7) with a regularity of approximately 1 week every 2 months
- You have a bachelors degree in IT or equivalent through experience
- You have a number of years of experience as an application engineer with relevant knowledge of:
- Operating systems Windows and/or Linux (as administrator)
- Virtual environments
- Web Servers (IIS and Apache)
- Application Servers, mainly Jboss, Tomcat, WebSphere (incl. ESB)
- Monitoring and alerting principles and monitoring tools (Tivoli, Scom, ...)
- Citrix
