Description
Our client in Antwerp is currently looking for a System Engineer to join their team.
As an experienced System Engineer, you contribute to the delivery of projects, the implementation of installations and the day-to-day management of the ICT infrastructure of the Belgium and Luxembourg cluster and this in close cooperation with the ICT colleagues in the Netherlands.
You can do this by following the following tasks:
You are responsible - both on hardware and software - for the configuration, installation and proactive management of current network systems
You are going to proactively look for initiatives to optimize system performance and security and to ensure stability
You support end users as the ultimate escalation point (3rd line).
You place service calls with the managed service providers and follow them closely
In addition to managing the existing ICT infrastructure, you partner with colleagues for the successful execution of challenging automation and migration projects
You report directly to the ICT Manager Belgium.
Your knowledge and skills
You obtained a higher degree in an ICT or related direction
You have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in building and managing an MS Windows network environment
You have an all-round technical knowledge in IT infrastructure, with in-depth experience in MS Exchange 2012, Active Directory and MS domain concepts and services (Profit, DHCP, DNS), SCCM 2012 and Hyper-V virtualization.
You have solid knowledge about TCP/IP Networks, VOIP, Routing, Switches and Hubs
Experience with network security, storage and backup procedures is a plus
You have experience working within a complex, corporate environment
You are a strong team player and you take proactive initiatives
You are learning and you have a passion for technology
You are able to determine priorities and you work solution-oriented
You can easily adapt to changes and you are flexible (ie willing to perform the necessary interventions after office hours)
You communicate fluently in Dutch, English and you can make yourself clear in French
