Description
One of our majon clients is now looking for a FTTH service & network engineer who will be responsible of the service and network engineering of the FTTH network equipment, based on a coexistence of GPON Legacy technology & next generation "XGS-PON" and "NG-PON2" technology (ITU-T G.98x standards & all the related BBF Technical Recommendations).
Based on the evolution of the FTTH products, services and associated SLA required by the product management of the residential, business and wholesale market, the candidate will have to collaborate to the development of the technical solution that is to be implemented onto the GPON network equipment (OLT & ONT) in the context of the client's network evolution.
He/she will also lead the testing engineers for the full validation of the technical solution defined.
The FTTH services & network engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of a fiber access service solution with the best possible customer experience.
The proposed solution must be simple to implement, must be future proof and must be aligned with the client's strategy.
The FTTH services & network engineer will:
Collect and translate the business requirements into technical requirements
Define a solution for the new service architecture implementation
Collaborate to the writing of RFQ's for equipment's
Engineer the new configuration of current network equipment (OLT, ONT)
Adapt the equipment management interfaces for a transparent IT integration (OSS, BSS)
Which technical skills do you need in order to perform this position?
Advanced knowledge of GPON protocol (ITU-T G.98x standards) and/or a strong experience of GPON equipment configuration (OLT & ONT) is mandatory
Good knowledge of equipment and technologies like
Ethernet access networks (VLAN bridging, cross-connect,)
Ethernet QoS (policing, shaping, IEEE 802.1p, 802.1q, 802.1ad,)
IP QoS (ToS, DCSP,)
Broadband Forum Technical Recommendations for access networks
Network protocols: PPPoE, IPoE, ARP, IPv4 & IPv6, TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, RTP, VOIP SIP, LACP, IGMP, MPLS
Network security basics
Measurement equipment's (protocol emulators, traffic generators, protocol analyzers)
Good English level, French and Dutch are a plus
