Description

1 x Web Administrator is needed for a potentially long term contract position in Valencia, Spain.
Working with an existing team, you will help deliver on-going administration and support for the Web Hosting Service. Your team will be multi-national and multi-location so we are looking for someone that has a good combination of technical skills (Windows, Web infrastructure, IIS, Azure) and excellent English communication.
Your regular activity will include:
  • Administration of system/software configurations and troubleshooting Windows based Web environment issues.
  • Document and improve processes, procedures and best practices to align with industry standards and customer needs.
  • Perform system administration of web and application Servers based on Microsoft IIS and ASP .NET
  • Analyze and identify key areas for automation and optimization, including improvements in system performance, processes, and deployments.
  • Coordinating maintenance and outages with infrastructure and business groups
  • Migrations of Web applications and consolidation of Web infrastructures.
  • Deployment of tools and implementation of processes to assist in operational support.
  • Documentation of operating procedures related to Web applications service.
  • Assist the evaluation, configuration and installation of new Web infrastructures and applications releases in accordance with established change management processes and configuration management standards.
  • Installation and configuration of Web Traffic Analysis tools, management of Web statistics profiles and develop custom reports on Web trends.
  • Develop system tools and utilities (eg scripts) to support the web infrastructure.
  • Involve in designing solutions for public Clouds (Azure, Amazon)
  • Stand-by services during weekends, official holidays and outside business hours if required.
  • Coordination with customers.
We're looking for someone with the following skills:
  • Hands-on experience on IIS, ASP.NET and .NET framework.
  • Experience in support, installation, configuration, clustering, best practices, troubleshooting of IIS.
  • Web compression and caching engines, performance tuning features (application initialization, multicore scaling, CPU throttling).
  • Experience with ASP.NET based Web application management and troubleshooting from an infrastructure perspective.
  • Microsoft Active Directory services and integration, Kerberos authentication and SSO.
  • Web publishing extensions and synchronization mechanisms (FTP, WebDAV, URL Rewrite, Web Deployment Tool like TFS, and RepliWeb).
  • Database infrastructure skills with Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2014 and 2016.
  • Excellent Knowledge of network communication protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, RPC, etc.) including the ability to analyze network issues.
  • Web authentication mechanisms and security (authentication protocols, certificates, SSL/TLS encryption, SNI extensions, URL authorization).
  • Scripting knowledge - ASP.NET and PowerShell.
  • Good knowledge about web & applications performance monitoring.
  • Good knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (Windows Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2)
  • Docker containers experience is desirable
  • Working knowledge of Cloud-Based services (PaaS & Saas) Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts, logical and analytical approach to solving problems.
  • Knowledge of ITIL service management methodology
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks around changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent technical documentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
  • Strong Knowledge in web analytics tools like WebTrends
  • Excellent knowledge of English is required
  • Microsoft certifications are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the LAMP stack would be an advantage.
Candidates should also be willing to participate in a 7 x 24 on call support program and possibly work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings.
