Description
Role: Senior Database Administrator
Location: Ireland/Dublin
Key responsibilities may include:
- Design, develop, test and implement quality Oracle database solutions within defined time scales;
- Responsibility for undertaking complex technical assignments and leading work both within their own department and across the wider IS group;
- Proactively monitor, report, troubleshoot, escalate and resolve technical issues with Oracle databases;
- Work with project teams and business users to analyse business and technical requirements;
- Perform database and system maintenance activities as required;
- Analysing, planning and implementing database upgrade/migration projects;
- Support Oracle database environments across development, test and production;
- Log support requests with 3rd party vendors as required; and
- Adhere to company policies, guidelines and standards in relation to Oracle databases.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required skills:
- 5+ years Oracle 11g and 12c environments;
- Strong experience of managing and administering Oracle database in a Linux environment;
- Support and improve the Database capability to ensure 24x7 availability for critical IS Services;
- Experience of Oracle Database cloning/refreshes procedures;
- Implementation of Oracle database patches and upgrades;
- Proficiency of Database Backup and Recovery procedures (RMAN), familiarity with CommVault preferential;
- Manage Database security in accordance with industry best practice;
- Knowledgeable in capacity planning, availability planning, performance tuning and metrics analysis;
- Oracle Enterprise Management (11g/12c) experience; and
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
