Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Advisor to support multiple new build Biomass and Energy from Waste plants utilising a Gasification process. The role is to oversee the primary Subcontractors work ensuring the right Quality and standards are being adhered to. Any gaps or differences are to be noted to the PM and seen through to resolution.

Key responsibilities
  • Ensure documentation of the commissioning process in the assigned technical area.
  • Day-to-day involvement in toolbox meetings, coordination and documentation of the commissioning work within the defined technical area.
  • Ensure that commissioning within the defined technical area is executed effectively; and on time.
  • Ensure that the work is in compliance with the project HSE rules and local legislation.
  • Ensure that tests are carried out and that commissioning work is documented (ITP) according to rules, procedures and templates.
  • Augment the Client's (Owner's) start up program by providing technical assistance on the equipment within our clients Scope of Supply as well as the other equipment within the energy system.
  • Inspect vessels, piping, mechanical, protective devices, utilities, interface points and all other items within Our Clients scope of supply to verify readiness for operation. This inspection is performed by visual and tactile means via normal access ports and without disassembly of equipment. Also, review the Client's (Owner's) project documents which are used in the verification that the system is ready for operation. This would include the review such items as the Clients supplied equipment check-outs and commissioning reports.
  • Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and that the process works effectively.
  • Any other activities, as directed by the client to do with commissioning
Tasks
  • Participate in review, preparation and coordination of detailed commissioning schedules.
  • Perform day-to-day installation/commissioning assigned tasks.
  • Control that tests are carried out and documented.
  • SAT - report deviations/troubles to the package manager of the equipment.
  • Be an active part of the SIT test especially by supporting Protection and test engineers.
  • Participate in the preparation of snagging lists.
  • Ensure that the necessary safety signs/notices, barriers and other safety measures are implemented on a day-to-day basis during commissioning.
  • Co-operate to control that all HSE procedures are implemented.
  • Co-operate to control that everything within the defined technical area is covered in relation to subsequent operation.
  • Ensure installation quality is according to DE standard.
Deliverables
  • Completed and signed manuals and test documentation for the plants including all FAT's. Documentation of maintenance and service.
  • Decision authority.
  • Recommend remedial actions in terms of the quality level within defined scope.
  • Take decisions related to daily coordination activities.
Qualifications
  • Engineer or marine engineer with a minimum of 5 years' experience with commissioning of large biomass Boilers.
  • Must have experience of commissioning the following one of or the a few of the following gasification, gas turbines, boilers and steam handling
  • Have a solid knowledge of English - written and spoken.
