Purpose of the Job
The responsibility of this post is to maintain the tube stock to standards of quality, cost and delivery that meet the customer expectations as a minimum. To carry out such maintenance work, both planned and corrective, on a 24-hour rotating shift basis helping exceed the customer expectations in, availability, reliability and safety
Knowledge/Experience
Must have sufficient experience in a mechanical/maintenance environment to carry out the duties required
Experience working within a Rolling Stock Maintenance environment
Basic knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems
Responsibilities
To maintain the Trains Rolling Stock, in line with specified quality procedures.
This will require manual work and sometimes working on powered up train's (630v) in a safe and controlled manner.
To carry out train preparation, all levels of examination and work arising, involving the use of on-board computerized equipment/working manuals, shunting & reformation exams.
Stripping and building bogies.
Demonstrate strong mechanical hands-on experience.
Lifting crane licence (Desirable).
To carry out such work in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as laid down by legislation and the Company Health & Safety policies.
To undertake other duties as specified by the Production Manager.
To adhere to company procedures especially in relation to Quality and Health & Safety.
To attend regular team briefings
To read reports and manuals as and when required.
To report accidents/incidents.
To drive company vehicles when required
To obtain and maintain a Depot Track Competence license
