Proteus Europe is searching for a Senior IT Middleware Engineer for a 3 month eventually renewable contract role based in Luxembourg.
Languages: Proficiency in written and spoken English; French and German language skills will be an asset

Your New role:
You will take responsibilities in a broad range of architecture, infrastructure and security engineering activities, covering the entire IFS IT landscape. As such, you will be a key member of the working group in charge of designing, delivering for, and supporting those areas.
Your assignments will include:
- Designing, developing and delivering Application Server, Web server and Messaging Middleware infrastructures
- Maintaining and developing the related automation frameworks, integration components and DevOps connectors, including their documentation
- Creating and documenting the architecture and the security of IFS systems, including for critical Internet customer-facing applications; you will also be working on the applicable processes and standards
- Assessing new infrastructure solutions and innovative technologies, including around public Cloud services
- Working with the other group members, acting as point of reference for the activities in the Middleware layer; reporting to the group lead
- Participating in the 3rd level production support (24/6) for the Middleware infrastructure, on a rota basis
- Managing the interaction with the Middleware software vendor's support engineers
Your Skills and experience:
Essential Skills:
- Master's Degree (or equivalent) in a computer-based discipline
- Hands-on experience in deploying, operating and supporting a Web application infrastructure including a Web server and an Application Server.
- Hands-on experience in installing, configuring and profiling/tuning Apache httpd as well as one standard Java Application Server (preferably RedHat JBoss EAP)
- Practical knowledge of SSL/TLS (PKI), including its configuration in Middleware software; practical knowledge of certificate/key deployment
- Experience in application security design and vulnerability assessment, especially for Web Internet facing applications.
- Experience in architecting, and documenting the architecture of 3-tier applications; ability to justify and challenge architecture decisions
- Practical experience in the following technologies:
- Linux OS
- a Version Control System, preferably Git
- an IDE (preferably IntelliJ or Eclipse)
- JavaEE services/APIs and their configuration in an Application Server
- XML Schema
- Apache Maven and Apache Ant
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of a messaging Middleware infrastructure will be an asset
- Knowledge of an SSO infrastructure will be an asset
Additional assets will be:
Developing with the Java language/JavaEE; experience with public Cloud services and APIs (preferably AWS); experience with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat Openshift and Ansible
