Role: Supplier Exit Vendor/Contracts Manager

Location: Central London

Duration: 6 months Contract

Day Rate: Competitive

Sopra Steria Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Vendor/Contracts Manager for a large blue chip client based in Central London.

Our client are currently transitioning their Back Office networks and branch networks from a number of long term suppliers.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis of existing contracts of incumbents and new service partners to allow optimal transition on services from incumbents to new partners and from Legacy equipment to current equipment
  • Working alongside IT Procurement colleagues to assist with developing statements of work (SOWs) and understand any current requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposal (RFPs) that are in the pipeline.
  • Establish contract management objectives, procedures, templates and workflow processes for assigned vendor contracts and deliverable schedules.
  • Maintain database, which contains all executed contracts, as well as contracts that are under development but are not yet active. Moreover, track both vendor and client obligations, deliverables and contract change notes. Manage and control access to documents as appropriate.
  • Working with Legal stakeholders to develop and insert appropriate legal protections in contracts, as warranted.
  • Work with all teams (CIOs, IT Operations, IT Security, Procurement, Legal, accounts payable, etc) to ensure that vendors are performing in accordance with existing requirements and regulatory obligations.
  • Develop a knowledge base of negotiating strategies, best practices, and negotiation personnel and teams. Make improvements to processes, procedures, workflow and organisational structures for best practice contract management.

Person Requirements

  • The individual should be a Vendor manager/Contracts Manager over a commercial negotiator
  • Experience within Telecoms or End User Computing
  • Knowledge of IT contracting trends, licensing models, and traditional and emerging contract and vendor performance model
  • Ideally have some experience of delay and delay penalty, not necessarily in Government but certainly in environments where they can describe tension, conflict, resolution and compromise
  • The ideal person should be able to act on their own initiative, be driven by timescales and milestones, proactive and pragmatic
