Role summary/purpose of job
This role will sit within the technical team tasked with the delivery of the replacement applications and interfaces. The role will sit within the team leading the development effort associated with the products including specifying and building system interfaces, core customisations, workflows and reporting/MI etc. They will liaise very closely with both Freshfields and supplier technical teams, the functional teams and the testing teams.
Key responsibilities and deliverables
- The Client's Drive Interfaces Developer is responsible for the successful delivery of custom development components of the programme delivery primarily concerning the integration of the new Practice Management System (TRE 3E) with the wider system landscape in place in Client's.
- Depending on the existing skills, specific duties will include upskilling in the development tools and methods, security models, workflow and integration tools etc. They will work with the FBD business subject matter experts, lead architect, the technical team and the supplier development and technical resources to complete technical specifications and deliver developments.
- As required they will work closely with supplier development resources to build and test the core customisations, interfaces, the security model, the reports and other system outputs that have been approved. They will also offer a technical support role during the various testing phases of the project and during go-live.
- As required, undergo product technical familiarisation training with a view to offering technical and development input to programme. Specifically training will be required in one or more of the following
- Intapp Integrate (Integration Builder), the Intapp configuration tools and workflow engine
- 3E Integrated Development Environment (IDE), advanced workflow engine and security modelling
- Work with FBD workstream team members and supplier resources to define and agree software requirement specifications and other technical development documentation including development effort estimates
- Raise and discuss programme change requests as appropriate
- Work alongside supplier technical resources and FBD colleagues to design and deliver system integrations and interfaces with other internal FBD systems using Intapp Integrate and/or MS Biztalk
- Work with the FBD subject matter experts and Supplier Consultants to resolve any questions or issues raised during the programme
- Deliver all developments and other custom components to the design, build, documentation and handover standards required of the Client's Drive programme team
- Close liaison with the Drive Lead Architect, Solution Architect and the worksteams to ensure that the design of all interfaces complements the process and technical design principles of the programme
- Liaison with operational teams and 3rd parties to ensure that interface requirements requiring the input of external suppliers are communicated, planned and delivered as required by the project
- Ensure that the programme development inventory is managed effectively and that the development environments are appropriate and under suitable change control
- Assistance with the creation of test scenarios and development and maintenance of test scripts
- Alongside the Programme Testing Manager work with the FBD and supplier teams to ensure that all custom deliverables - from both internal and external resources - undergo the complete range to testing required and meet the acceptance criteria
- With other members of the programme, the investigation of current integration pain points and analyse possible issues with stakeholders
- Ensuring that system documentation is delivered and that the handover of custom aspects of the solution to the operational departments is achieved successfully
Key requirements
- Previous experience of the Intapp product suite and in particular, Intapp Integrate preferred
- Systems analysis and development experience - ability to work within a project team of analysts, system developers, other technical resources and internal and external staff
- Elite 3E systems configuration, 3E IDE experience preferred
- Experience of working with global stakeholders ideally within a legal environment
- Experience of working within a fast moving, complex, international programme such as Client's Drive desirable
- Experience of developing and reviewing software requirements and estimating effort to complete the development life cycle
- Knowledge of relevant Practice Management and/or Risk systems desirable. TRE 3E and ideally the Intapp suite, preferably with global implementation experience
- Previous experience and knowledge of the Client's development projects and products is preferable
- IT literate, user of MS Visio, MS Project other project management tools such as requirements traceability tools, testing tools etc. Fluent in MS Office
- Formal background in Systems Analysis and Development
- Testing design and test script development exposure
