Senior IT Systems Engineer - Unified Communications - Edinburgh - Active Directory/Exchange/Skype
Square One are looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer specialising in Active Directory, Exchange and Skype to come on board for a 3 month contract based in Edinburgh starting Monday.
This role requires an individual to provide support a third line infrastructure platforms team. The individual must be passionate about technologies such as Active Directory, Exchange and Skype for Business and will be looking to adopt the best technologies to support efficiencies around repeatable, commoditised activities. The individual will have a proven track record working in a third line IT Operations team as a senior analyst. The role will be aligned to day-to-day BAU activities but will also be required to support the UC Engineering function for the delivery of projects and small change.
General Skills
Responsible for providing 3rd Line support for all systems supported by the Unified Communications team. There will be elements of 2nd Line support required whilst we transition responsibilities to Service Delivery teams.
Responsible for creating documentation and knowledgebase articles for known issues and problems
Work with other areas of IT to ensure consistent and professional services to the rest of the business
Implementing systems that are highly available and scalable.
Significant experience working in enterprise-class environments
Experiencing leading system DR tests and scheduled failovers.
Experience working within ITIL aligned organisation(s)
Experience working with remote teams
Strong verbal/written communication skills
Technical Skills
5-10 years experience supporting Active Directory, Exchange and Lync/SfB technologies
Strong Experience supporting a Highly Available Exchange estate in a large multi-site enterprise environment - Exchange /EXO Hybrid
Experience of email hygiene/security technologies such as Symantec.cloud and MimeCast
In depth knowledge of Server 2016 down to 2008
In depth knowledge of Active Directory - 2008R2/2012R2/2016
Exposure to Lotus Domino would be beneficial
In depth knowledge of Email Journaling and Archiving technologies such as Enterprise Vault 12, Actiance Vantage and CryoServe.
Strong detailed root cause/performance analysis experience (inc Exchange performance analysis)
Strong PowerShell skills are beneficial
Strong experience of Blackberry Work (Good Dynamics) and BES10
Experience of Active Directory Federation Services
Experience of Active Directory Certificate Services
Experience of SCOM 2012R2 Monitoring
Knowledge of VMware ESX is beneficial
Knowledge of EMC VNX or SAN storage is beneficial
Experience of ServiceNow is beneficial
Certifications
ITIL v3 Foundation or above
Must be at least MCSA Windows Server 2012
Ideally MCSE Messaging/MCSE Productivity (either SfB or Exchange)
