Description

Our direct Fortune 500 client in the greater Cleveland area is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst for a long-term contract role. This contract is 1+ year. Our client is looking for excellent communication skills and manual and automation testing experience. This is a great opportunity to work on a highly visible project at one of the largest, most admired IT organizations in the area! Our client is a major insurance company.

The Claims "BI" Organization has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Analyst Senior (ie software tester) to work on the Intellirisk Project. Intellirisk is a Business Intelligence web-solution that enables Claims resources to find/identify risk indicators within their inventory of claims. Ultimately this tool provides Claims resources the ability to manage the daily inventory based on the claims risk.

The project scope is to enhance an assessment tool for the Claims organization including the user interface, database structuring, and automated data-creation by scaling and building out an existing system. In this role, the software tester will be responsible for the manual end-to-end testing of the application including the UI (web site), database (SQL server), ETL process (SSIS), and reporting services (SSRS/SSAS cube). (Note: Testing tools = TBD additional details to follow.)

Please note, this team is part of the Claims business vertical, not IT. This team will be experimenting with SCRUM, so testers in this role will need to be flexible in their development and execution of their testing artifacts. Standard testing processes such as risk-based, black-box/functional, and/or exploratory testing will be modified and adapted as decisions regarding the overall development life cycle are made. Therefore, this role requires a good deal of flexibility in the context of process adherence and a good deal of independent thinking, collaboration, and self-sufficiency. Testers accustom to strict adherence to testing protocols may find this role and team environment challenging. Testers accustom to flexibility, adaptability, and creative thought in the context of test development and execution will fare well in this role.

Required:
-Both manual and automated testing experience; therefore, experience with testing tools is required - QTP/ALM is preferred. The split is estimated to be 75% manual and 25% automated, but automation may increase as projects proceed. Candidates need to have experience with that type of transition. For the automated, the QAAs running scripts and making minor changes to them.
-Risk-based testing experience. These are technically complex applications written in C#/.NET. There's a component of headless testing in that the rating and product logic may need to be tested through harnesses and/or automated tools. The QAAs will work in conjunction with the developers and system test engineers ensuring test scenarios requiring this type of testing are covered starting with the highest risk areas first.
-Candidates must have experience with manipulating XML to produce test data
-Experience testing C# applications. All code is C# so understanding the terminology and risk associated with what the developers are doing from a coding perspective.

Plusses:
-Any experience with the Framework for Integrated Testing (FIT) or the insurance industry would be a plus.
