We currently have a vacancy for one Information Architect to offer his/her services within a European agency (client) in The Hague to start ASAP a 1-year contract (initial) in an EN-speaking environment. Extensions are possible until year 2020.

Tasks & Responsibilities

1.) Information Management architecture

  • Description and analysis of the business situation of Europol in terms of business services and the necessary collaborations between various parties, based on the Europol regulation and Europol Strategy
  • Definition of the structure of the target Information Management architecture, based on the Strategic Vision on Information Management
  • Support the Architecture team in the development of the overall target Information Management Architecture;

2.) Analysis of Case Management

  • Business needs analysis, including both general purpose and specific Law Enforcement domains;
  • Terminology definition
  • Analysis of existing solutions
  • Definition of target information service architecture and high-level implementation roadmap

3.) Analysis of search and cross-matching

  • Business needs analysis, including both general purpose and specific Law Enforcement domains
  • Terminology definition
  • Analysis of existing solutions
  • Definition of target information service architecture and high-level implementation roadmap

Skills & Experience

  • Working knowledge of English (level to be specified: B2)
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture: professional knowledge in the processes and methods involved in developing an Enterprise Architecture, with specific focus on the role of information.
  • Knowledge of business modelling
  • Knowledge of modelling business services.
  • Knowledge of information standardisation and interoperability and in the development of ontologies.
  • Knowledge of information models, conceptualisation and visualisation of information architecture models and designs
  • Knowledge of the DEMO method
  • Knowledge of Enterprise architecture tools, such as Sparx Enterprise Architect
  • Knowledge of the Archimate modelling standard
  • Knowledge of information modelling standards, in particular ORM or one of its derivatives
  • Knowledge of ICT solutions specific to the Law Enforcement and Justice areas

  • Place of Work: 100% on-site.
  • Certificate of Good conduct required prior to the start of the project. If a certificate of good conduct (issued by a competent National Security Authority of an EU Member State) is available now, a copy shall be presented with the offer. This will result in a higher score at the evaluation.
  • This job offers/requires to undergo a security clearance (EU Confidential level) immediate after start, which is mandatory, but will open SC market!
