Description
Infrastructure Engineer required for a 6 month contract based in Galway.
Role:
Acting as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the support teams responsible for maintaining a scalable and resilient infrastructure to support the needs of teams
Direct involvement in incidents or problems that cause service impact and act as escalation point for incidents that impact Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, Virtualization solutions and O365
Use strong root cause analysis skills and to drive teams to implement relevant changes
Provide expert administration of a large-scale Microsoft Windows Server environment
Provide expert administration of a large scale Virtualized environment
Provide expert administration of large scale O365 environment
Creating and reviewing support documentation
Skills/Experience
5 to 6 years' experience in a similar Infrastructure Operations role
The experience of a 24x7 production operations environment, preferably supporting a highly available environment for a large multinational organization.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2008)
Expert knowledge of AD including experience with AD group types and the capabilities and limitations of each; Active Directory replication, replication topologies and replication latency; Microsoft permission types, permission precedents and managing NTFS DACLs; Microsoft Best Practices involving group nesting and permissions pipelining.
Expert knowledge of Virtualization Technologies and associated services (specifically VMware)
Expert knowledge of Office 365 (particularly Email and Skype) and associated services.
Strong understanding of system and networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to operate in an agile and dynamic environment
Certifications
BS Degree in MIS/Computer science or equivalent experience
MCSE preferred
VMware certified preferred
An Identity Management System Certification would be an advantage
ITIL Certification would be an advantage.
