Description

Circuit Design Engineer I

Individuals responsible for development, publication, implementation and monitoring progress of Circuit Design Plan. These plans will drive the decommission of older ECI TDXC used for International circuit cross-connects/muxing. Individuals will review existing MECCA/BGW/PC Controller Inventory systems for TDXC as the basis for developing the detailed Circuit Design Plan. Circuits impacted include OC3, DS3, E1, T1 and DS0 interfaces. Circuit Design Plan will allow Circuit Design Engineer to migrate circuits off the TDXC. Individual will be responsible for higher and lower level circuit migrations, including scheduling MASTARS and writing mux messages. Circuit Design Plan needs to be reviewed with IGP and Field Operations as well as other impacted Provisioning team (Service Delivery/Customer, etc). IGP and Field Operations will typically implement (move) the actual circuits. Individual responsible to hold bi-weekly review meetings with involved parties to review progress. Individuals will help establish individual performance metrics for program. Individuals will work in Richardson TX.

Bachelors degree plus a minimum of 6 years circuit design/provisioning and/or Operations telecommunications experience required. Prior experience working with internal Verizon MECCA system is absolute must. Familiarity with internal Verizon BGW system is preferred. After initial training, individuals will be counted on to be self-motivated with minimal supervision. Need to be able to solve problems and think through solutions when scenarios are out of normal. Some Site Operations or equipment hands on familiarity is ideal for interfacing with Field Operations.
