Background:
The government are introducing new powers (Digital Economy Act 2017) for telecoms operators to allow them to install telecoms equipment across the UK to allow for all residents to get access to telecoms/Internet. Until now, operators have had to negotiate independent commercial agreements with landlords to "lease" space on their property. This new code, Electronic Communications Code (ECC), will dictate how landlords will be compensated for having equipment on their land, so compensation may be considerably lower than their previous agreements.
The Valuation Surveyor will be the first one to establish test cases to implement the new code and put Landlords and Partners through the new renewal process. So they will need to be: Dynamic, engaging, very Agile, and able to influence others to adapt quickly, as working practices will change as they refine the process.
- Initially the role holder will be part of a small team running workshops and training to Managed Service Providers, Small Works Contractors and other suppliers.
- Subsequently the role will focus upon the effective implementation of revised Lease and Agreement Renewal Processes, their ongoing evolution and optimisation and also compliance auditing.
- They'll be supporting the Litigation Lawyer on any legal escalations, and managing the collation of necessary data to take to court.
