Location: Reading

o The business requirements
o Client IT principles
o Middleware best practise
o Oracle Fusion best practise

The current high level design describes that the Middleware will need to provide the following:
a) A publish/subscribe mechanism for channels.
b) A channel for GIS to publish messages/events to, that users can subscribe to.
c) A channel for WAM to publish messages/events to, that users can subscribe to.
d) The means to store and archive the messages/events received on the channels.
e) A transformation function/service that will take events from GIS and convert them into calls that can be actioned against WAM services.
f) The design of the business orchestration processes - and integration of interfaces into the business processes
g) A transformation function/service that will take messages from WAM and convert them into calls that can be actioned by GIS services.
h) A means for a subscriber to (re)request events for a channel for any given time period - to be used in the event of a system restore/rollback.
i) Tracking of events to ensure that subscribers have received all events.
j) Handling of errors due to (among others):
a. Loss of network connectivity
b. Lack of resources (storage etc.)
c. Failure in the transformation
d. The ability to rollback transactions and data that have failed
k) Monitoring of the system:
a. Events published in relation to expected volumes (from exceeded to none received)
b. Active' subscribers
c. Events received by subscribers (possible)
d. Errors (as above)
e. Resource usage

2. The subsequent detailed design of the fusion components needed to support the interface between GE Smallworld GIS and Maximo WAM. This will form part of the GIS/WAM Asset Changes Interface Detailed Design, alongside the detail for the GIS and WAM components. This will require collaboration with the relevant GIS and WAM design team.
