Citrix Systems Engineer - no C2C
Atlanta, GA
6 month contract +

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for supporting Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, owning day-to-day operational tasks, performing server builds, publishing applications, provisioning virtual desktops and acting as a virtualization SME on projects. This is a 7x24x365 support organization and some after-hours work may be required.

What are the must-have skills?
- Engineering and implementation experience in a large Citrix environment. Not looking for a support generalist that happens to support Citrix along with everything else.
- Citrix 6.5/7.1x XenApp and XenDesktop, Provisioning Server, Workspace Environment Management

What are the nice to have skills?
- Excellent communication skills, experience in large, corporate environments, VMWare ESX (as a platform for Citrix), VMWare App Volumes

What does the day to day look like?
- Flexible hours between 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, working on escalated Citrix issues, owning day-to-day operational tasks, performing server builds and publishing applications, acting as an SME on projects

How will the contractor be using their technical skills?
- Working on a team of 10 people, 5 of which are dedicated to Citrix, who engineer, support and constantly improve a Citrix environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

BS/BA in Computer Science or MIS is desired or equivalent work experience
Experience and knowledge of Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp 6.5/7.1X are required.
Experience and knowledge of Citrix Provisioning Server are required.
Experience and knowledge of Citrix Workspace Environment Management are required.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Citrix group policy is required.
Knowledge of RDS and Citrix licensing is required.
Basic knowledge of Scripting is required.
Experience with large-scale Citrix upgrades and environment migrations is desired
Experience and knowledge of VMware ESX and AppVolumes are desired.
Experience and knowledge of AirWatch MDM and Workspace One are desired.
Ability to provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Windows Operating Systems on physical and virtual platforms
General knowledge of information technologies (those currently used within the system and new technologies)
Ability to effectively organize tasks, manage multiple priorities/details, meet schedules, and deliver on customer commitments
Ability to negotiate with and influence others - internally as well as vendors
Ability to build relationships and work in a team atmosphere as well as work independently
Ability to provide and accept feedback
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Professional oral and written communication skills are required

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diagnose and resolve problems to meet service level expectations. 30%
Installation and maintenance of XenApp/XenDesktop infrastructure. 20%
Installation and maintenance of system software. 20%
Provide second-level support to other areas both within and outside of IT. 10%
Follow standard processes for hardware, software and project completion, problem resolution and change management. 10%
Communicate progress, problems and best practices to management, leads and teammates. 10%
