An 'expert' level Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer is required to join an Irish independent statutory body, whose mission is to provide the public with independent and effective oversight of policing, and to deal with the public's complaints fairly and efficiently, so that everyone can have confidence in the complaints system.

The organisation has approximately 85 staff, the majority of whom are based Full time in Dublin 1. There are also regional offices, in Cork and Longford.

The successful candidates will be expected to take a leading role in the planning, design and implementation of additional improvements to the hardware, software, governing processes and documentation of the organisations ICT infrastructure, as these become necessary and are approved over the duration of the term.

A key requirement of the contract is that skills and knowledge transfer to the organisations ICT Unit staff and/or end-users must take place as and when required. This will be facilitated through occasional scheduled workshops and also via day-to-day mentoring of ICT Unit staff.

Documentation, produced to a high standard, will be routinely required for hardware and software systems and processes, network infrastructure, planned and completed implementations, etc. Documentation produced under this contract will remain the property of the organisation.

*Back End Services setup and administration: including Microsoft Windows Server 2; SQL Server ; SharePoint 2013; Exchange 2016; Fileserver and Print Management; HP TRIM v7/v9 (or equivalent)
*Security services setup and administration, including Microsoft Active Directory; DHCP and DNS; UTM and Secure Email Gateway
*Design, setup and administration of server virtualisation environment based on VMWare vSphere 6
*EMC SAN design, setup and administration
*Avaya/Ringmaster IP Telephony services setup and administration (or equivalent)
*Design, setup and maintenance of Disaster Recovery and service resilience infrastructure and processes
*Wide Area Network (WAN) service administration, including Government network interface and management of remote access
*Local Area Network (LAN), VLAN and DMZ design, setup, administration, security management and troubleshooting, based on Cisco switch/Router components; Cisco and Fortinet clustered Firewalls
*Network performance, capacity and event-alert management
*Management of Legato Networker Backup/Restore infrastructure and processes; use of these facilities to support GSOC's DR environment and its administration
*Network security administration and threat management, including use of Sophos and Bitlocker encryption tools
*Setup, configuration and management of approximately 150 desktop and laptop devices
*Management of remote client devices and services, including estate of 50 Apple iPhone 6 devices, and remote access to Microsoft Outlook email
*Experience in drafting, contributing to and maintenance of ICT Policies, guidance documentation and sitemaps
