Duration: 3 months

Pay rate: £400.00 - £500.00 p/d

Clearance: Complete BPSS clearance before starting

The location of this role is based abroad

My client, a global organisation, currently has a contract opportunity for an Oracle DBA that directs or performs all activities related to maintaining a successful database environment. The Oracle DBA enables an organisation to control and maintain its data assets, as well as their processing and interactions with different applications and business processes. The role of the Oracle DBA ensures that system data can be stored and retrieved efficiently, reliably and securely, installs and configures the database software, plans or implements migration of data or operations between database products, versions or environments. The successful Oracle DBA will be working with Oracle v11 & Oracle V12. Candidates for the role of the Oracle DBA will need to engage with the end client and some senior stakeholders.

The Oracle DBA role will require to do the below:

  • Designs, implements, and documents database implementations, and leads in the construction and maintenance of moderately complex or complex database systems
  • Overcomes obstacles to deliver quality implementations and service on time and to SLA
  • Collaborates and negotiates with all project team members (developers, testers etc) to maximise the efficiency of the delivery team through an integrated and appropriate DBA services

Essential skills for the successful Oracle DBA:

  • Will need to have extensive experience with Oracle databases
  • Able to understand the issues, configure the issues and potential risks
  • Must be able to engage with client in a technical and non-technical way
