Senior Automation Engineer: Chef Cloud Configuration Powershell
A world renowned pharmaceutical organisation in Prague are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to be responsible for automating day to day infrastructure and application management tasks, developing automated workflows and tests supporting the installation, configuration, customization, validation, qualification, administration and support of Private Cloud Automation Tools, especially Chef.
The successful candidate will contribute to the activities associated with installation, upgrade and patching of Chef Automation Tools
* Consult with and make recommendations to Private Cloud teams (Architecture, Service Delivery, Demand Management, Engineering) in defining, implementing and delivering Private Cloud Service Offerings
* Improve, track progress, and make recommendations on Automation tools improvements, imaging, and new releases.
* Help in sizing and contribute/validate solution design
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Develop automated workflows/recipes in Chef automation tools
* Support installation and configuration of Chef Automation Tools adhering to security and organizational standards
* Contribute to availability of Automation Platform to meet agreed SLAs
* Resolve any issues in timely manner to avoid disruption to service
* Train operations team to use Automation tools effectively
* Document design, configuration and implementation details
* Document Standard Operating Procedures for using and maintaining Automation toolset
* Maintain current knowledge of Automation Tools.
* Collaborate via agile processes and tools
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
* University working and thinking level, degree in computer science or comparable education/experience
* 3+ years of experience with development in Chef automation tools
* Relevant experience with Orchestration and Automation tools
* 5+ years of Scripting experience (at least one of PowerShell, bash, Ruby, PowerCLI, JavaScipt)
* Expert knowledge in using at least two Automation platforms (Chef, Puppet, vRealize Automation, Cisco UCS Director)
* In-depth understanding of deploying Windows, Linux, Database (SQL Server and Oracle) in a virtualized (VMware) environment
* In-depth understanding of automated Compliance and Configuration management
* Detailed knowledge of Service Management (ITIL) principles through experience or certification.
* Experience in creating interfaces to Data Centre Infrastructure tools (such as Active Directory, ServiceNow, Remedy on Demand, Atrium CMDB, QiP, HP OMi, NetBackup, TSM etc.)
* Knowledge of Converged (Vblock, HDS UCP) and Hyper-converged (Nutanix) platforms
* Experience in infrastructure architecture and design of complex distributed systems environments, including failover techniques, recovery/rollback, and application partitioning
* Excellent Communication Skills
* Experience of working in GxP/SOX qualified environments
* Experience of working in a Matrix organization including off-shore teams
* English (written and spoken) required
* Agreeable to travel (globally) as required (?= 10%)
