Description
- Loads tapes and offline storage to support production application jobs using
- established procedures and guidelines
- Works with enterprise backup applications
- Works with enterprise batch/job processing tools
- Monitor Servers, databases, processes and logs through the use of an
- enterprise tool set such as EMC, BMC and/or Netiq.
- Tracks and reports on existing or impending system performance bottlenecks
- Schedules and executes batch jobs per operational requirements and
- standard procedures
- Ensures all daily, weekly and monthly backup, batch and other critical
- Processing is done according to pre-defined service levels and expectations.
- Maintains offsite/vault storage with all relevant media and ensures accurate and complete tape rotations occur according to pre-determined schedules.
- Assists in the development, review and maintenance of operational
- Procedures according to applications and CTO infrastructure guidelines.
- Maintains an accurate daily log of events that occurred on shift and
- Communicates anomalies to senior operations personnel.
- Provides telephone support to requests coming into the data center operations and escalates according to established guidelines
- Develop relationships with other operational groups, leveraging their
- Skills to drive towards expeditious resolution.
