CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY: Systems Design Engineer Glasgow, Scotland Initial 3-6 month contract Competitive daily rate (Dependent on experience)
One of my leading clients, a huge global organisation based in Glasgow are looking for a Systems Design Engineer to join them on-site for an initial 3-6 month contract.

Your main responsibilities as a Design Engineer:
Systems designs, manufactures, and maintains products including ships, submarines, and military vehicles. As a Design Engineer, you will be involved in developing CAD models, drawings, and supporting calculations.
You will be carrying out relatively complex technical surveys and investigations, including the evaluation and selection of technical options. You will be producing technical reports and guidance packages to help resolve problems and improve engineering capability.
Your skills and qualifications:
Your qualifications will include a HNC/HND (or similar) level qualification in an engineering discipline.
You will have a working knowledge of a CAD package such as AutoCAD, Foran, Catia, or CADS5.
You will also meet the requirements for registration as an Engineering Technician with the Engineering Council and preferably be a member of a relevant professional body, on the way to becoming an Incorporated Engineer. Knowledge of AUTOCAD and Microsoft Applications will also be useful.
Marine experience will clearly be a plus, but whatever your track record, high levels of technical expertise, personal drive and strong communication skills are particularly important.
