Our Client, one of the world's foremost Consultancies, is looking to recruit a Contract Operating Systems Architect to join their client in Parma, Italy.
Design, plan and coordinate effective installation of operating systems and
systems architecture.
Plan and perform appropriate procedures, documentation, inventory
assessment, and other procedures related to systems management.
Monitor, analyze system components and make recommendations regarding
computer system security, computer system performance, disk and other
components utilization. Monitors systems applications assigned to track
operating efficiency.
Design virtual system architectures and plan system architecture reviews as a
part of a project life cycle, using performance benchmark data and/or vendor
recommendations as inputs into choosing the appropriate hardware and
software.
Work with a team to automate management tasks, streamline processes and
perform standard administration functions as needed.
Conduct software and hardware evaluations, provide technical analysis and
implement systems to meet EFSA?s IT goals.
Report status and flag issues to the project manager and to EFSA.
Skills & Experience University degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, physics or
chemistry; alternatively, post-secondary degree plus years proven
experience in Microsoft Windows architecture, years proven
experience in VMware architectures.
Demonstrated hands-on experience of Microsoft Windows
Server Architecture design and years in Microsoft Cluster Service
architecture design.
Working experience in designing, deploying, managing and
troubleshooting MS Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) toolkit.
Experience in designing VMware architectures for large organizations
(200+ users).
A prior experience in large Data Center operation environment is needed.
Must have good knowledge of storage solutions and data management
products, Intel based servers and SAN/NAS technologies.
Must have practical exposure to Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and unified
communication technologies.
Any relevant certification in the area is an asset.
Good understanding of ITIL practices and knowledge of the COBIT framework.
He/she shall have a very good written and oral command of English.
Knowledge of Italian is a definite plus.
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid
self-starting capability and experience in team working are mandatory.
