Lab Manufacturing Warehouse Engineer/Leiden, Netherlands/6 months Contract/35 to 57 EUR (Per Hour)

Lab Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) Engineer

Develops, supports and manages Server, PC and Infrastructure environment in relation to LMW (Lab/Manufacturing/Warehousing).

Translates business needs into functional and technical solutions within J&J guidelines and policies. Has experience as project manager.

Ensures effective maintenance and development of environment and all automation related services, both office environment and production automation

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Manages and maintains Servers, Network Infrastructure (incl. manufacturing environment behind Firewall)
  • Ensuring that availability is within defined service level agreements and performance is maintained to an acceptable level.
  • Configuration and set up of LMW PCS including Installation Qualification using approved process and documentation.
  • Provides 2nd line troubleshooting, supporting the ITS Service Desk of JBV in maintaining the office and production environment, providing assistance and training whenever required.
  • Develop production systems. Constantly developing the environment to ensure compatibility with standard technologies and capacity to handle system growth.
  • Manage projects - Takes responsibility for small to medium size projects managing own timelines and deliverables.
  • Support of integration of LMW IT Peripheral equipment (instruments/scanners etc.) and assisting in incident and problems investigations ensuring quick resolution of issues. Escalating infrastructure issues to supplier/manufacturer as required.
  • Documentation - Provides documentation according to J&J guidelines in accordance with system changes.
  • Provide support outside business hours - Participate in support roster to ensure that systems availability is maintained outside normal business hours. This can be in the form of a pager system but can also be in the form of planned maintenance and system upgrades.
  • Maintain standardization and consistency - Ensures J&J standards are maintained and systems are implemented in a consistent fashion.
  • Security - Ensures systems are implemented and maintain in a way that maintains the integrity of the data and access to it.
  • Licensing - Ensures that systems are installed in accordance with products license requirements.
  • In downtime situations a commitment to getting the system or network available again is expected.
  • Communicating with site users on IT advisories as required (eg scheduling shut downs etc.)
  • Responsible for supporting customer and global LMW impacting projects on site.
  • Responsible for administering PC Operating System Environment (eg Windows V 7) at site in accordance with established procedures, including: account management, group management, NTFS permission management, and share management.
  • Manage the control of change LMW PCs and Workstations and associate environments following defined Change Control Processes.

Profile requirements:

Be technically competent on the technologies in use within the company and preferably with a relevant (computing) 3rd Level Degree qualification.

  • Bachelor or Academic degree in Information Technology or an equivalent education;
  • Experience with IT technologies (MS Certified) is required;
  • Experience of Cisco (CNE) is required;
  • Experience withgeneral LAN/WAN technologies and ITIL essentials is required;
  • Working knowledge of GXP and LMW environments essential;
  • Have a logical ability for problem determination & resolution;
  • Personal qualities should include, motivation, flexibility, initiative and commitment;
  • Ability to work in a diverse team conscious of the customers' needs and expectations;
  • Needs to be pro-active in determining and resolving problems;
  • Good communication skills are essential (English is required, Dutch is preferred);
  • Experience in a validated/qualified environment would be beneficial;
  • Awareness of security issues and appreciation of his/her access levels as systems manager must be understood to maintain confidentiality of company information;
  • Creates a standards based environment ensuring consistency in an environment of rapid change;
  • Be able to work independently working towards agreed time lines and managing own agreed goals and project commitments;
  • An understanding of GMP/GLP practices and their influence on systems development and validation is required;
  • An understanding of business objectives and the ability to set priorities accordingly is an important skill when working in environment where technology can change rapidly;
  • Drivers license is required.
