Job description:
A typical working day would include the following tasks for our Linux system engineer:
- Red Hat OS deployment (RHEL 7.1)
- User management in NIS and OpenLDAP
- Basic networking configuration (configuring routes, requesting IP addresses)
- Writing scripts that support OS configuration and deployment
- Managing Red Hat Satellite instances (currently used for managing our OS baseline (RPM) and configuration files)
- Case follow-up with underpinning contracts (Red Hat, HP)
- Workstation deployment
We are currently focussing a lot on automation and aligning the different Linux environments. For this we already developed custom tooling and are looking into various tools on the market to support this.
It would be nice if our future colleague would have any knowledge of one of these tools/script languages:
- Tools: Ansible/Puppet/Chef
- Scripting skills: Ruby/Python/Perl
Technical skills (must have):
- OS: Linux RedHat
- Apps: OpenLDAP, MySQL
- Scripting: Bash, Perl, Python
Technical skills (nice to have):
- OS: Solaris
- Apps: Puppet
Languages: French mandatory/preferably English
