Position Summary
Software Integrator and Tester, Real World Insights
We are recruiting an experimented Software Integrator and Tester to support an expert technical team. The project aims at setting up and testing different technical platforms that will allow the extraction, transformation and loading of complex and widely varying data from different healthcare systems and databases.
We are looking for a hands-on, dynamic, self-directed individual who can identify problems, compare and score solutions, develop and execute appropriate test procedures, and document processes and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Proactively develop, document and use test processes for technology solutions focused on the querying, extraction, storage and use of life sciences and health data.
- Work closely with teams and interpret functional specifications, test strategies and scenarios to produce test plans and indicators.
- Design and develop manual and automated tests.
- Perform integration, performance and stress testing of existing software solution. Compare the different solutions.
- Ensuring that test evidence is appropriately recorded to validate the tests executed for both manual and automated test procedures.
- Log and track defects raised during testing and proactively ensure satisfactory resolution through collaboration with support teams of the software vendors.
Skills & Experience
- 2 years+ experience of working in a complex IT environment, with experience in both manual and automated testing.
- Proven experience with R (Python/Matlab)
- Experience of developing and utilizing automated test tools (AutoIt/Scripting)
- Practical experience in systems and network configuration, LAN, VPN set up)
- Comfortable working with various file formats including CSV, HPRIM files, XML data
- Experience in Extraction, Transformation, Loading (ETL) procedures from mapping to cleaning (eg Talend/Alteryx/Knime)
- Hands on experience with at least one RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server)
- Able to develop queries/procedures in SQL (eg PL/SQL, T-SQL)
- Exposure to both Windows and Linux environments
- Test experience with both functional and non-functional requirements eg performance, quality, security etc.
- Ability to communicate fluently, both verbally and written, in English and French.
Preferred
- Exposure to healthcare/life sciences/clinical trials/pharmaceutical data is highly preferred
- Experience with HL7 based data exchange would be beneficial
- General understanding of software development approaches and principles
- Proactive, flexible and result oriented. Eager to learn and test novel solutions.
