Manufacturing Engineer

A chance for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a global Defence company located at Barrow-in-Furness.

Job Description

  • Experienced manufacturing engineer with experience planning heavy fabrication in structural steel the successful candidate will be able to utilise TeamCentre visualisation tools to plan build and welding sequences and liaise with the build teams to validate the plan.
  • The candidate will also be expected to write manufacturing instructions including quality control points and safe system of work control measures.
  • An important part of this role is to work with the build teams and collect issues to validate and verify the build sequence/plan and update associated M-BOM, Routing and manufacturing documentation. Commissioning special tools and test equipment may also form part of the candidate's duties.
  • Experience using TeamCentre and SAP are a distinct advantage, orientation training will be provided for the candidate to understand how our product data is configured and accessed in our PLM/ERP systems.

The Individual

  • The successful candidate will have experience compiling manufacturing plans (M-BOM, Routings and Manufacturing instructions) for fabrication (hot-work outfit).
  • It is important that the candidate can support the shop floor, provide training and resolve problems in an efficient and practical way.
  • Experience working with immature design data and change while supporting Operations to deliver the product is important

Due to the restrictions on site successful candidates will need to hold full SC clearance before joining the Project.
