Network Architect - Contract - Nottingham - £500/day - 12 month minimum
My client is about to start a programme of work to move out of the on premise Data Centre into the Cloud.
- The client is seeking a contractor for a period of up to 12 months to assist in defining, designing, and building the network architecture for a major new cloud infrastructure based on Microsoft O365 and Azure
- The successful candidate will have:
- Prior experience working in a public sector environment - ideally local government or health authority
- 10 years relevant experience working in an Architecture/Design post with certifications relevant to the role advertised (eg CCNP, CCIE, MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure etc.)
- Detailed technical understanding of Microsoft Azure - including understanding of Azure network structures, Expressroute, integration with on prem etc.
- Detailed technical understanding of Microsoft O365 - including an in depth understanding of the usage and implementation of the various security features available
- Understanding of Checkpoint, Palo Alto and Cisco Firewalls, Cisco Catalyst and Nexus Switches, Bluecoat Proxy SG appliances, F5 BigIP appliances
- Prior experience of both cloud migrations and infrastructure upgrade/replacement projects
- Good documentation skills - evidence of this will be sought
- Good presentation skills - including ability to tune a presentation to the particular audience
- Able to work independently
- You will be expected to be able to make decisions about Azure and O365 network architecture on the fly and be able to defend and explain those decisions to various technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will face-off to MS experts in meetings and your decisions will have a material impact on how the client uses the cloud based environments they migrate into.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- Strong Azure experience
- Strong Microsoft o365 experience
- Understanding of: Checkpoint/Palo Alto/Nexus/Bluecoat/F5 BigIP/Cisco
- Certification(s): CCNP CCIE MCSE
