Configuration Designer, DISE
Our client within the telecommunications industry requires a Configuration Designer.
The E2E High Level Configuration Designer is responsible for leading design effort across multiple application and components
Key activities that this involves are: -
* Defining customer focussed solutions and understanding the Customer Experience
* Defining serviceability / operability and capacity
* Engagement and contribution to End to End Programmes and associated Workshops
* Working collaboratively with the delivery areas including supplier partner
Responsibilities: -
* Defining customer focussed solutions
* Perform E2E solution design activities within a given "domain" boundary
* Utilise existing capability to deliver solutions
* Provide subject matter expertise around the applications and their capability within a given domain block
* Ensure the business is aware of component existing capabilities and how they can be exploited
* Actively support engagement workshops and further interaction to contribute to requirements capture and design activities
* Facing off into the delivery areas including supplier partners for key Design decisions
* Ensure the compliance of the design to business functional and non-functional requirements
* Validate Detailed Designs
* Defining serviceability/operability and capacity
* Work with the Business Analyst to understand the requirements and further specify where required
* Address design for implementation
* Work with existing interface specifications
*Engagement and contribution to Programmes and associated Workshops
* Support planning and resourcing activities to enable E2E design completion and overall project delivery
* Ability to work independently on discrete propositions as well as engaging with Solution Architects and Solution Designers on larger projects to ensure successful collaboration, interfaces and hand-offs throughout the project lifecycle
*Working collaboratively with delivery areas and supplier partners
* Working collaboratively and in partnership with delivery areas and supplier partners
* Engaging with the delivery areas and suppliers to create customer based solutions, ensuring suppliers build is in line with the design
Essential skills, attributes and experience: -
* End to end project experience with strong consulting, influencing, presentation and planning skills
* A strong understanding of billing systems, experience with Martin Dawes Systems CMP - (DISE) highly desirable
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at senior levels
Proven ability to design IT solutions that: -
* Are flexible, supportable and customer experience focussed
* Adhere to IT strategy and standards, legal and regulatory requirements and industry best practice
* Demonstrable analytical and systematic approach to problem solving
* Demonstrable planning and reporting abilities
* A working knowledge of technical architecture disciplines (application, data or infrastructure)
* Previous experience on major billing systems
* Practical experience of software development
* Experience of Sparx EA and HP ALM are desirable
