Description

A leading international banking client of mine is looking for an Ops engineer to join an exiting project based in the heart of Amsterdam. The Ops Engineer is primarily responsible for the stability of his or her own application, identifies application and system related problems and takes the lead in resolving an incident.

Your tasks consist of monitoring, managing, study, testing and running the application. You proactively monitor technical behaviour and performance through all aspects of the entire stack to prevent problems. This means that you can contribute to the realisation of all activities in the backlog.
As an engineer, you continuously look for improvements in our operational processes and try to automate them as much as possible. With this we try to bring our application software to production faster and more frequently with an ever-better quality, so that we can help our ING customers banking, easier, faster and safer.

You work with colleagues from other people expertise areas and takes initiative in the broadening of knowledge (within and beyond your expertise) that is relevant within the Tribe in which you work.
You pick up tasks/activities that contribute to the mission wherever possible,
even if it does not fall entirely within your field of expertise.

Engineering
* You have an up-to-date view on IT expertise.
* Deploying and running of Production system, you provide Level 2 support your application. You specify, design, and perform Performance and Acceptance tests (including High Availability and Disaster Recovery Tests) with the help of the Dev Engineer.
* Specify, design, test and deploy the runtime scripts (eg stop/start/purge/backup).
* Specify, design, test and deployment of roll-back scripts.
* You configure and implement Monitoring Tooling (for 24x7 monitoring of the Master Control Room (MCR) with use of correct Event Alerts, agreed with the MCR.
