Description

We are currently helping one of our leading renewable energy clients to find a Measurement Engineer (Metocean) for their offshore wind farm projects. This exciting 9.5 month role will be due to start 15th March 2018 up until 31st December 2018. The Consultant can be based in either the client's prestigious office in the UK or Europe but must be prepared to travel 10 - 12 days a month to the client's offices in USA, Taiwan, Europe. The Measurement Engineer will co-ordinate the design, installation and commissioning of offshore load measurement campaigns.
Responsibilities:
  • To support the team of Measurement Engineers with tasks across running projects.
  • Support for specification, installation, commissioning and maintenance of Metocean measurement equipment (floating lidars, wave buoys and ADCP's).
  • To ensure that the projects are on time and deliveries and quality are according to industry standards and best practice.
  • Must comply with the client's guidelines and standards in force processes, as well as stakeholder and contractually accepted specifications.
  • To take part actively in the project team and ensure coordination between subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Review project results, including external deliveries from contractors.
Tasks:
  • To assist in writing up employer requirements for the client's contractors based on the need of stakeholders across the organisations.
  • To proactively identify campaign requirements from in-house customers.
  • To manager contractors during the installation, commissioning and operational phases, which will include coordinating with local site HSE organisation.
  • Engage with contractors to ensure top class quality on solutions and installed equipment be ready to maintain and troubleshoot on measurement equipment as needed on/offshore.
  • To ensure quality of data is recorded at the measurement equipment.
  • To review project results, including external deliveries and documentation from contractors.
  • Work with internal and external team members in designing and implementing measurement campaigns at the clients offshore wind farms.
Qualifications of Candidate:
  • BSc/MSc in Engineering or similar.
  • NEBOSH certified.
  • Must have full GWO certificates offshore training, plus OGUK Medical Certificate to include Chester Step-up Test.
  • Minimum 5 years. experience in a similar role.
  • 2-3 years working in a similar environment.
Special Provision:
  • The Consultant must bring his/her own mobile telephone (i-Phone 4S,5C, 5S, 6 or 6+ or a Window phone 8.1 & PC with MS Office software)
  • The Consultants must bring his/her own PPE equipment.
