Senior Subcontract/Commercial Specialist - Contract - Essex or Chester - Excellent Rate - SC Clearance

Working under the general direction of the Commercial and Sub Contract Managers, manage moderate value routine Subcontracts/Contracts. Supports Subcontract/Contract Managers to manage high value/complex Subcontracts/Contracts and to assist in the delivery of Request for Proposals.

Essential Skills:

  • Related degree or equivalent
  • Experience of working with international suppliers or customers on major programmes

  • Awareness of import/export legislation
  • Basic programme management skill set - Risk Management/Programme Gating/Metrics
  • Extensive experience of Contract Management and Purchasing - material receipt/acceptance/payment/delivery/invoicing processes
  • Extensive experience of logistics issues
  • Experience of negotiating and changing of multiple types of standard agreement including the flow down/flow up of requirements and the use of Statements of Work.
  • Knowledge and experience of risk management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support to Contract/Subcontract Managers in preparation of responses to customer Requests for Proposal and negotiation of agreements and changes
  • Negotiates Standard Contract/Subcontract Agreements, NDAs and TAAs within defined limits
  • Maintains moderate value Purchase Orders and Contracts
  • Identifies and manages risk and opportunity, working collaboratively with customers, subcontractors and other project team members
  • Administration of standard due diligence activity
  • Creation and maintenance of compliance matrices
  • Forecasts and manages programme finances
  • Management and measurement of delivery performance
  • Administration of receipt, acceptance, payment, delivery and invoicing
  • Maintenance of records
  • Attends, and may present at, customer, supplier and internal reviews
  • Support to, or production of, business cases/briefing materials for senior management reviews
  • Participation in cross-functional improvement activity
