Security Assurance Coordinator

Location: South West of England

Duration: 6 months [initially]

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Sopra Steria is currently recruiting for a Security Assurance Coordinator to join a new team, based at a key Defence customer site in the South West of England.

The team is tasked with providing a solution to deliver secure access to information services for users across various locations in the UK and overseas, providing a configurable network that has a single sign-on.

This contract is for an initial six months, with the option to extend for at least another twelve beyond that.

On client's instructions, due to the urgency, nature and length of the assignment, the successful candidate must have current security clearance to a high level.

The Security Assurance Coordinator will:

  • Leverage prior proven experience to provide sound strategic advice, input, support, challenge and knowledge transfer as required across the programme team, particularly in the areas of information security and accreditation.
  • Work to deliver Security Accreditation, advice and security artefacts across all work-streams.
  • Provide briefing to various stakeholders on security/assurance aspects and provide security input as appropriate
  • Attend and contribute to programme meetings
  • Assist with management of Programme security risks
  • Contribute to the development of appropriate artefacts as specifically identified and agreed as the programme and associated projects progress, to include: Risk Management and Accreditation Document Set (RMADS), Privacy Impact Assessments, Risk Balance Cases and Security Policies/procedures etc. to support the accreditation of client systems and services.
  • Deliver Information Assurance advice and guidance from design through to transition to live service (briefing material, papers, verbal) - includes input to Defence Assurance & Infosec. (DAIS) Security Design & Research (SD&R) products for enterprise level Infosec initiatives that impact client.
  • Be trained in Information Security Disciplines and have the following qualifications as a minimum; CISSP and ISO27001
  • Have a strong knowledge and ability to make use of Cabinet Office Security and Information Assurance Frameworks and documentation, eg the HMG Information Standards, Good Practice Guides, etc.

Risk Management and Accreditation Document Set (RMADS):

  • System Description and Basic Information
  • Technical Risk Assessments
  • Risk Treatment Plans
  • Baseline control Sets - in line with ISO27002, but mediated to the higher Business Information Levels of 5 and 6
  • Security Instructions for relevant user types
  • Privacy Impact Assessments
  • Security Cases/Risk Balance Cases
  • Security Policy and Guidance Documentation
