Network Automation Engineer Required

Location: Netherlands/Amsterdam

Start date: Immediate

Rate: 510 EUR per day

Job details:

Working as a network automation engineer you are required to work within the core networks and operations team within the technology and innovation department. The main project is all evolved around the network architecture and engineering, focusing mainly on providing all data services towards our customers. You will help support the transition towards building network automations, using software to configure and operate our networks.

Day-to-day activities as a network automation engineer:

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to design and implement tools that help automate end-to-end processes that involve the network infrastructure
  • Participate in Coding using Python to develop Network automation tools
  • Model the aspects of LAN/WAN network, and provide the right level of abstraction
  • Work with Operational/Engineering and implementation Teams and propose new ideas of automation
  • Drive the innovation and evolution of Network Automation tools.
  • Automate select network operation tasks through creation and maintenance of tools and software
  • Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes
  • Create and review documentation and process regarding recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.

Required skills and knowledge as a network automation engineer:

  • Strong programming skills in Python/Java.
  • Experience in Network engineering/design & administration (Switching, Routing, Firewalls).
  • Knowledge of general network principles and technology in WAN and LAN infrastructures, VLANs, subnetting, routing etc.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and deployments (eg BGP, MPLS, OSPF, IS-IS, VLANs, prefix-lists, ACLs, etc)
  • Experience with Juniper, Cisco, Nokia Routers and Switches
  • Certifications like CCNA/CCNP/JNCIP
  • Experience with working with REST APIs
  • Experience in creating and maintaining version control of source code, such as SVN/GIT
  • Ability to work with JSON, XML, YAML, and proprietary data interchange formats
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms and their performance
  • Experience in Agile methodologies
  • Fluent Dutch Is a Plus.
