System Engineer

Brief Overview

Triad has an exciting new contract opportunity working in Copenhagen.

Responsibilities:

  • Together with the Measurement Engineer, identify data storage needs over the lifetime of the project.
  • Design of data acquisition for measurement campaigns.
  • Provide inputs to the Measurement Engineer regarding IT technical scope.
  • Provide data acquisition, storage and first QA of the data to the specification of the campaigns in collaboration with specialist engineers and the Measurement Engineer.
  • Add input together with the Measurement Engineer to Client's requirement.
  • Responsible for development of software in cooperation with the IT organisation, testing, installation on acquisition server and commissioning the acquisition system according to specification and plans.
  • Secure that naming conventions are followed, and Metadata and relevant documentation are linked to the data and available for the end user.
  • Support that measurement systems are available/in service and online.
  • Support the Measurement Engineer with technical queries regarding collected data or system setup.
  • Ensure data deliveries at the agreed time.
  • Stay up to date on state of the art IT techniques to support high speed and convenience for end user.

Tasks:

  • Scoping measurement data management for all phases during campaigns in collaboration with the Measurement Engineer.
  • Provide Back Office support when offshore work is performed by Measurement Engineers and team as necessary.
  • Follow up on data availability and quality and initiate actions to rectify issues that prevents data from being stored or retrieved.
  • Receiving mail status from measurements and initiate that malfunctioning systems are fixed.
  • Follow up on data quality (sensor and logger functionality) and notify the Measurement Engineer to rectify identified warnings and errors.
  • Take part in relevant technical discussions/meetings to ensure optimal solutions are being identified for the data part of the measurement campaign.
  • Implement Measurement Data acquisition and storage system design.

Deliverables:

  • Make the data legible read for end users during and after measurement campaign.
  • Input to time plan for the data acquisition of the measurement campaign.
  • Data in quality according to specifications and format to agreed storage solution.
  • Make Metadata accessible and legible.
  • Create automated Measurement system status reports.
  • Data storage and operations documentation.

Experience/Key Skills

  • Programming skills in: C#, NET, ASP.NET, MVC, Java, Powershell, T-SQL, (MSSQL)
  • Experience with MSSQL database server and designing database objects.
  • Experience with FTP/SFTP.
  • Experience with network communication (TCP)
  • Experience with RDP, Windows server Task Scheduler and Windows Services.
  • High degree of stakeholder engagement skills.
