Network Support Engineer - Contract - Sussex
Square One are looking for a Network Support Engineer to come on board for an initial 6 month contract in Sussex
This is an initial 6 month contract, paying market rates.
The skills required are:-
- Excellent knowledge of Cisco IOS and network devices including Switches and Firewalls (both Virtual and Physical)
- Knowledge of Juniper and Netscalers would be an advantage
- Knowledge of WAN technology (MPLS, VPN etc.) would be an advantage
- Knowledge of networking within an Azure environment would be an advantage
- Knowledge of Solarwinds Network Configuration Manager would be an advantage
- Ability to produce infrastructure designs including wiring standards, network protocols, network addressing, subnetting and DNS.
General day to day tasks would include:-
- Install, maintain, and repair the LAN physical infrastructure to ensure proper functionality and performance. This would be mainly via remote access, though in rare occasions some travel may be necessary.
- Install, maintain, and repair the WAN environment to ensure proper functionality and performance
- Assist with planning of new or upgraded network environments
- Manage all network device back-up and restore
- Carry out troubleshooting of issues involving network equipment
- Monitor service alerts and to takes appropriate action to resolve issues
- Monitor network system performance and escalate significant events
- Maintain records in the configuration management database
- Implement configuration scripts
This is an initial 6 month contract, paying market rates.
